Party Rental FAQs — New Hampshire & Massachusetts
Vertical Entertainment is a family-owned party and event rental company in Gilford, New Hampshire, serving New England since 2006. We rent bounce houses, water slides, obstacle courses, a mechanical bull, rock climbing walls and bungee, LED mini golf, casino night equipment, photo booths, foam cannons, inflatable mazes, carnival games, concessions, and tents, tables and chairs — delivered and set up across New Hampshire's Lakes Region, southern New Hampshire, and northeastern Massachusetts.
The Weekend Rental Difference
Book a weekday rental for up to 6 hours, or take the entire weekend for the same price — delivered by 11:00 AM Saturday, picked up no earlier than 5:00 PM Sunday. That's 30+ hours.
We also deliver and set up everything ourselves, from inflatables to tents and chairs, with setup included in the posted price rather than billed after. And if you have to cancel, your payment is never lost — it carries forward as a raincheck good for a full year.
Rentals start at $225. Below are answers to the questions we're asked most, covering pricing, delivery, space and power requirements, safety, and booking.

How many hours do I get the rental for?
30+ hours. We deliver by 11:00 AM Saturday and pick up no earlier than 5:00 PM Sunday — the entire weekend for the same price as a weekday rental of up to 6 hours.
You can also book a weekday rental Monday through Friday. Select the weekend option during checkout to get the full weekend. Weekend rentals have been standard since 2024. More on our Programs & Membership page.
Is there a delivery fee?
Yes — a travel fee is added at checkout based on your location. All inflatables must be delivered by our crew, since the units weigh several hundred pounds and often require power equipment to move.
Some smaller items are eligible for customer pickup and drop-off, which avoids the travel fee entirely. Eligibility is noted on the item page.
Are there any other fees?
Four to be aware of, all disclosed at checkout:
- Travel fee — added at checkout based on your location.
- 15% high-usage fee — non-residential rentals only, covering schools, towns, businesses, and organizations. It won't appear on your online total until our staff adds it, so add 15% for an accurate real-time quote.
- Damage waiver — optional, 7% of your order.
- Relocation and cleaning — if we have to return to move items after delivery, additional travel and labor fees apply. If a rental needs excess cleaning afterward, that may be charged as well.
New Hampshire sales tax applies to food and concession items. Residential rentals are not subject to the high-usage fee.
Do you offer discounts?
Three ways to save. Members get a guaranteed 25% discount on every order placed through our system. VE Bucks earns points on every rental that apply to your next booking. We also run seasonal promotions throughout the year.
See current offers on our Sales & Promotions page and membership details on our Programs & Membership page.
Do you offer package deals?
Yes. Packages start at $295 and run up to $1,350 for a nine-game carnival setup, bundling inflatables, games, and concessions below the cost of booking items separately. We also build school packages sized for field days and carnivals.
As a small family business we'll swap items within a package one-for-one — a game for another game, for example. Submit your order form and contact us before paying the deposit and we'll accommodate based on availability. Browse all packages.
Booking & Payment
How much do I have to pay upfront?
A minimum payment is due at checkout to reserve your date. It is non-refundable, but it is credited in full toward your balance — and if you cancel, it carries forward as a raincheck rather than being lost. Once it's paid, those specific items are held for you and can't be booked by anyone else.
An optional 7% damage waiver is available at checkout.
How far in advance should I book?
The sooner the better, especially for summer and early fall weekends. Graduation season in late May and June and fall festival dates tend to fill first, and popular items book on a first-come basis once a deposit is placed.
Call 603-491-1598 to check availability for your date, or start an order online to see what's open.
Can I move the inflatable after it's set up?
No — tell us exactly where you want everything before we arrive. Inflatables weigh several hundred pounds and are anchored and powered in place, so relocating one means sending a crew back. If we have to return to move items after delivery, additional travel and labor fees apply and it depends on staff availability.
Mark the setup location clearly on your order form, including any access notes, and we'll get it right the first time.
What We Rent
What attractions does Vertical Entertainment rent?
We're a one-stop event provider serving New England. Our inventory covers bounce houses, combo units, jumbo combos, water slides, dry slides, obstacle courses, toddler inflatables, a mechanical bull, rock climbing walls and bungee, vertical bikes, LED mini golf, casino night, photo booths, dunk tanks, foam cannons, game shows, movie screens, carnival and interactive games, concessions, generators, and tents, tables, and chairs.
One company, one delivery, one point of contact. See the full product list.
Do you have rentals for adults, not just kids?
Yes. Our mechanical bull, rock climbing wall and bungee jump, vertical bikes, casino night tables, photo booths, LED mini golf, and game shows are all built for teen and adult events.
These are our most-booked items for corporate events, company picnics, fundraisers, milestone birthdays, proms, and weddings. Several larger obstacle courses and interactive inflatables are rated for adults as well.
Do you have military-themed inflatables?
Yes. We carry a Military Bounce House at $225, a Military Combo at $295, a Military Package at $295, and a US Military banner. They're a regular fit for National Night Out, base and Guard family days, veterans' organization events, and first responder appreciation days.
We also carry Marshall the Fire Dog, a fire-service themed bounce house at $275 popular with fire department open houses and fire safety events.
Do you rent inflatable mazes?
Yes — two of them, both $1,495. Our Giant Inflatable Maze is themed as a corn maze with corn-stalk artwork, and our Halloween Giant Inflatable Maze has haunted artwork for fall events. Both share the same specs: a 40 by 40 foot setup area with 13 feet of height clearance, a 38 by 38 foot unit standing 11 feet tall, one outlet, one attendant, and rated for ages 4 and up.
An inflatable corn maze gives you the fall festival experience without a field, and both units fit through standard gymnasium doors — so they work indoors year-round as well as on fields and parking lots. They're strong fundraiser attractions too, since you can charge per attempt. See them with our Halloween rentals and interactive attractions.
Do you rent inflatable axe throwing?
Yes. Our Captured Air Inflatable Axe Throwing unit is $195 and uses soft, safe axes with an inflatable target — no real blades. It needs a compact footprint of roughly 6 by 7 feet with about 7 feet 7 inches of height clearance.
It's popular for corporate events, adult parties, and school and college events. Browse it with our interactive games.
What is Hippo Chow Down?
Hippo Chow Down is a life-size version of the Hungry Hippos board game, and one of our most popular interactive rentals for mixed groups of kids and adults. Four players each start at their own station, tethered to a bungee cord. When the game starts they race to a pond of balls in the center, grab one at a time, and haul it back to their own mesh bag. Whoever collects the most balls wins.
It's fast, competitive, and as entertaining to watch as it is to play — a fit for school and college events, proms, corporate team building, fundraisers, and town events. A trained operator runs the game throughout. Browse it with our interactive games.
Do you rent concession machines, and do the supplies come with them?
Yes, and servings are included. Cotton candy comes with 50 servings at $85. Popcorn and sno-cones each come with 25 servings at $75. Flavors are included at no extra charge — options include blue raspberry, grape, cherry berry, and pink vanilla.
You can also pair a theme and concession machine. New Hampshire sales tax applies to food items. Browse all concession rentals.
Do you rent tents, tables, and chairs?
Yes, and we set all of it up at no extra charge.
| Item | Capacity | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 10 x 10 tent | Food or gift station | $99 |
| 10 x 20 tent | Seats up to 18 | $199 |
| 18 x 27 tent | Seats up to 40 | $450 |
| Sidewalls | All three sizes | $50 – $75 |
| 6' rectangular table | — | $12 |
| Chairs | — | $2.50 each |
| Tent packages | Tent + tables + chairs | $115 – $625 |
Sidewalls are worth adding if rain or wind is forecast. See all options on our tents, tables and chairs page.
Foam Parties
What is a foam party and how does it work?
A foam party uses a cannon to fill your chosen area with mountains of foam that guests play in. We offer two options: a full-service foam cannon where our staff member operates it and stays on site for the duration of your rental, and a smaller drop-and-go backyard cannon you set up and run yourself.
Full-service starts at $395 and the backyard drop-and-go is $375. All foam is clear unless you upgrade to colored — $75 for clear solution, $95 for blue or pink. Additional hours are $100 each. See our foam cannon page.
How much does a foam party cost?
Foam parties start at $375 for the backyard drop-and-go cannon. Our full-service cannon with a staff operator is $395. Foam solution is $75 for clear or $95 for blue or pink, and additional hours are $100 each.
Non-residential bookings add the 15% high-usage fee.
What do I need to have ready for a foam party?
Two things: a water supply and power. We don't provide the water, but we do provide a 50-foot hose, so you'll need an outdoor faucet within reach and good water pressure. You'll also need electricity within 100 feet of the setup area.
Check your nearest outdoor faucets and outlets in advance and make sure both are working properly. Foam parties work anywhere — backyards, block parties, school events, camps, community days, and corporate family days.
Is foam party foam safe?
Yes. Our foam is made from sodium lauryl sulfate, glycerol, and water — the same core ingredients found in shampoo, dish soap, and toothpaste. It's safe for babies, pets, and the environment, including lawns and gardens.
The foam dissolves on its own within 1 to 2 hours. You can speed that up by spraying a hose or running sprinklers.
What should people wear to a foam party?
Bathing suits are best, though loose-fitting clothing works fine too. Shoes aren't required — kids can wear appropriate footwear or go barefoot.
Tell guests to bring three things: their party outfit, a change of clothes, and a towel.
Casino Night
What casino games do you rent?
We rent blackjack, craps, roulette, Texas Hold'Em, three-card poker, baccarat, Let it Ride, Casino War, Red Dog Hi-Lo, over/under, money wheel, and our own Granite Roll dice game. A casino decoration package is available to complete the setup.
Dedicated coverage in Portsmouth, Manchester, Concord, Plymouth, Wolfeboro, and Meredith.
How much does a casino night rental cost?
Casino night is quoted per event, because pricing depends on how many tables you need, your guest count, and whether you want dealers. Most casino nights are built around a set of tables sized to the group rather than a single flat rate.
Call 603-491-1598 and we'll put together a quote for your event. See our casino night rentals.
Can we run a casino night as a fundraiser?
Yes — casino nights are one of the most effective fundraising formats we supply. Guests buy in for play money, individual tables create natural sponsorship space, and the format pairs well with raffles and silent auctions.
We've supported fundraisers for schools, churches, and community organizations across New England since 2006. See our fundraisers page or call 603-491-1598.
Photo Booths
Do you rent photo booths in New Hampshire?
Yes. We rent three photo booths — the Mirror X, the 360 Photo Booth, and an inflatable photo booth. All three are popular for weddings, proms, graduations, corporate parties, trade shows, and milestone birthdays.
Photo booths are quoted per event based on your date, location, and how long you need it. Call 603-491-1598 for a quote, or see our photo booth page.
Do you rent photo booths for trade shows and corporate events?
Yes — photo booths are one of the strongest draws for a trade show booth, and we also supply them for conferences, company parties, and employee appreciation events.
See our corporate events page or call 603-491-1598 to talk through what you need.
Choosing What's Right for Your Event
What should I rent for a kid's birthday party?
For most backyard birthdays a combo bounce house with a slide gives the best value, because it packs a jumping area, climbing feature, and slide into one footprint so kids rotate between activities instead of waiting in line.
| Ages | Best fit | From |
|---|---|---|
| 2–7 | Toddler inflatables, traditional bounce houses | $225 |
| 4–12 | Combo units with slides — most booked | $295 |
| 8–14 | Obstacle courses, water slides | $295 |
| 12–adult | Mechanical bull, rock wall, dunk tank | $295 |
For mixed-age parties, pairing a toddler unit with a larger combo covers everyone. Call 603-491-1598 and we'll match items to the ages attending.
Should I rent one combo unit or two separate inflatables?
For most backyard parties one combo unit is the better value. A combo packs multiple activities into a single footprint, which matters when yard space is limited, and it's one delivery and one price. Combos start at $295 against $225 for a basic bounce house — a small step up for considerably more to do.
Two separate units make sense with a wide age spread, or enough guests that one unit would create a line. Remember each unit needs its own power source within 50 feet. Our packages price multi-item bookings below the individual totals.
What size tent do I need for my guest count?
A 10 by 20 tent seats up to 18 people at $199, and an 18 by 27 tent seats up to 40 people at $450. A 10 by 10 tent at $99 suits a food or gift station rather than seating.
Sidewalls run $50 to $75 depending on size and are worth adding if rain or wind is forecast. Tent packages bundling tables and chairs run $115 to $625. See our tents, tables and chairs page.
How long are your obstacle courses?
Our obstacle courses run from a dual-lane unit at $350 up to a 140-foot four-piece extreme course at $1,495.
| Course | Price |
|---|---|
| Dual lane | $350 |
| 40' rock climb and slide | $425 |
| 70' two-piece | $750 |
| 80' two-piece | $775 |
| 100' three-piece | $1,100 |
| 110' three-piece | $1,125 |
| 140' four-piece extreme | $1,495 |
Most need 13 to 20 feet of width and about 21 feet of height clearance. Browse all obstacle courses.
What should I look for when booking a party rental company?
Five things worth verifying before you put down a deposit:
- How many hours you actually get. Many companies quote a day but deliver a shorter window.
- Whether setup and takedown are included or billed separately after the fact.
- Proof of insurance and inspection — ask for documentation, especially for a school, park, or town venue.
- Who is actually delivering. Trained crews versus day labor changes both safety and setup quality.
- What gets added after booking. Ask specifically about travel fees, usage fees, damage waivers, and tax.
We publish our answers to all five on this page.
Delivery, Space & Setup
Do you set everything up?
Yes — we deliver, set up, and take down every item, from inflatables and rock walls to tents, tables, and chairs. Setup is included in the posted price, not billed after.
For bookings made through our online system, our crew sets up before your event and returns for pickup. Staff aren't on site during the event unless your booking includes a staffed attraction. Review our Prepare For Your Rental page before your date.
Do you need electricity?
Yes — each unit needs its own electrical source within 50 feet of the setup area. Check that you have enough outlets for everything you're renting, since inflatables run on continuous-airflow blowers that stay on for the duration of your event.
If your location doesn't have accessible power, we rent Honda generators — $99 for a 2000 model up to $225 for a 7000 model, sized to what you're running. Browse generator rentals.
How much space do I need?
A standard bounce house needs roughly 17 by 17 feet with 17 feet of height. A combo unit needs about 18 by 30 feet with 16 feet of height, and a 40-foot obstacle course about 41 by 13 feet with 21 feet of clearance.
Every product page lists the exact setup area, the actual unit size, the number of outlets required, how many attendants come with it, and the age group it's rated for — so you can check fit before you book. Our largest unit, the Giant Inflatable Maze, needs 40 by 40 feet with 13 feet of clearance.
What if I don't have a yard big enough?
We regularly set up at town parks, church lots, school fields, community centers, and campgrounds — not just backyards. Many customers book a public space when the yard won't fit the unit they want.
Most public parks require a reservation and proof of insurance, and we provide the documentation. Tell us your town when you call 603-491-1598 and we'll help you work out the location.
Do water slides need a hose hookup?
Yes — water slides need a water source at the setup location. Water slides run $295 to $795, from a 15-foot single lane to a 61-foot dual-lane run-and-splash.
Check your nearest outdoor faucet before your event and make sure it's working with good pressure. Browse our water slide rentals.
Safety & Insurance
Are you insured and inspected?
Yes. Vertical Entertainment is a fully insured and inspected entertainment business, and we furnish proof of insurance for schools, towns, parks, and venues that require it for approval.
We've served hundreds of events across New England since 2006, from fairs and town events to school functions and private parties. If you need documentation for a venue, just ask.
Is there a damage waiver?
Yes — an optional damage waiver is available at checkout for 7% of your order total. It's your choice whether to add it.
Separately, if a rental needs excess cleaning after your event, that may be charged to you. Full details are in your rental contract.
Do you provide staff to run the attractions?
Rock climbing walls, bungee units, and our full-service foam cannon always have a trained staff member on site for the entire event. Our smaller backyard foam cannon is a drop-and-go you run yourself.
Other attractions can be staffed on request and are quoted by individual invoice.
Are there age limits on the attractions?
Every product page lists the age group each unit is rated for. Our Giant Inflatable Maze, for example, is rated for ages 4 and up, while toddler inflatables are built specifically for our youngest guests.
Check the item page for the attraction you're considering, or call 603-491-1598 and we'll tell you what suits the ages attending.
Can you set up at a town park or school?
Yes. We've worked with hundreds of towns, schools, police and fire departments, and community organizations across New England since 2006, and we carry the insurance documentation these venues require.
We regularly serve elementary schools, middle schools, prep and high schools, colleges, libraries, summer camps, campgrounds, and daycare and kindergarten programs.
Weather & Cancellation
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 7 days before your event and your full balance can be refunded, or held as a raincheck — whichever you prefer. Cancel within 7 days of your event and we hold your minimum payment as a raincheck, good for one full year toward a future event.
The minimum payment is non-refundable either way, but it is never lost. It always carries forward as credit.
What happens if it rains?
Most of our equipment runs safely in light rain. We stop for thunder, lightning, or strong winds.
If weather cancels your event, we work with you to reschedule to the next available date. Cancel more than 7 days out and your full balance can be refunded or held as a raincheck. Cancel within 7 days and your minimum payment is held as a raincheck good for one full year. Terms differ for town and community contracts, so review your agreement.
